Manufacturer's product description:

This Newtonian is an adequately sized instrument for the starter who doesn't want to pay out too much.

Observation:

This Newtonian already offers you very nice views on many objects beyond the solar system. The precision ground mirror already resolves many open star clusters into individual stars. The 76 mm aperture is sufficient to discern the brighter galaxies. Also bright emission nebulae such as the Great Orion Nebula or the famous Ring Nebula in Lyra can be detected.

Within the solar system too, there is a lot to be admired. Venus' phase changes, the craggy surface of the Moon or Jupiter's cloud bands are all among features within reach of this reflector.

Altazimuth mount:

The mount is a solid construction which allows delicate vertical and horizontal rotation, so that you can focus on any point in the sky or on earth. The weatherproof aluminium field tripod is height adjustable and provides a stirdy base. Due to its easy handling, this instrument is especially well suited for children.

1.25" eyepiece holder:

Unfortunately, most scopes in this range come with a small eyepiece holder. This means, you can neither use any photo equipment nor contrast enhancing filters.

We supply this instrument with a 1.25" eyepiece holder.

Expert comment:

Compare: A similar telescope which is very good value for money is the Omegon N 76/700 AZ-1. You also benefit from a comprehensive accessory kit for getting you started in astronomy.

Inexpensive telescopes with 60mm or 70mm apertures are offered by many manufacturers. They are quite suitable for having fun exploring the night sky. Observing the Moon is an impressive experience even in the smallest instrument. The alt-azimuth mount also allows easy terrestrial observing. But you shouldn't expect high performance with telescopes in this price range. It is sometimes worthwhile investing slightly more money in order to get better performance.
