ZWO ASI220MM Mini Camera
The ZWO ASI220MM Mini is a monochrome astronomical camera featuring a highly sensitive SC2210 CMOS sensor, designed for autoguiding, lunar and planetary imaging, and astrophotography. Compared with the ASI290MM Mini, the ASI220MM Mini is an improved version featuring a larger sensor format, larger pixels and better near-infrared (NIR) sensitivity.
Key advantages
ASI220MM Mini as an autoguider:
- Thanks to its high light sensitivity, the camera makes it possible to find a guide star even when using off-axis guiding.
- The practical 1.25" housing makes installation straightforward. Simply insert the camera into a 1.25" focuser, achieve focus and start guiding.
- Only 8.5 mm working distance from the front edge of the camera to the sensor, allowing focus to be achieved even with limited focuser travel.
- At just 60 g, the camera places very little load on the focuser.
- The ST4 cable and ST4 port are included. Connect the camera directly to the mount's autoguiding port.
Autoguiding software is not included. The camera is ASCOM-compatible and suitable for use with PHD Guiding, Guidedog, Metaguide, Guidemaster (freeware), APT, AstroArt and MaxIm DL (paid software), among other compatible applications.
ASI220MM Mini as an astronomy camera:
- The highly sensitive sensor provides good capabilities for lunar and planetary imaging.
- High frame rate for planetary imaging.
- The camera fits any 1.25" focuser. Insert and secure it like an eyepiece, focus and start astrophotography.
- Thanks to its high sensitivity, the ASI220MM Mini is also suitable for imaging nebulae and galaxies.
- The camera features a clear glass filter that is also transparent to infrared light, making infrared photography possible.
Product description
The ASI220MM Mini combines the functionality of an autoguiding camera with the capabilities of an astronomical imaging camera. Its SC2210 sensor offers a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a pixel size of 4.0 µm. The 12-bit digitisation depth supports the capture of image detail.
The camera supports ROI (Region of Interest), allowing a selected sensor area to be read out. At full resolution, the frame rate is 14 frames per second.
The clear glass filter transmits infrared light, making the camera suitable not only for conventional astronomical imaging but also for infrared astrophotography experiments.
With its compact housing, low weight and short working distance, the ASI220MM Mini is convenient to install in a telescope focuser and use in autoguiding systems.
Areas of application: autoguiding, lunar and planetary imaging, meteor observation and imaging, and AllSky systems.
