Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" (400/1830) is a collapsible open tube telescope on a Dobsonian mount. This powerful and practical design is a first-class solution for thrilling visual astronomy. With its 406 mm aperture diameter and 1830 mm focal length, this telescope resolves fine details of planets: dynamic cloud bands and Jupiter's Great Red Spot, the complex structure of Saturn's rings, Mars' polar caps, and individual phases of Venus and Mercury. Its deep sky observation capabilities bring celestial wonders closer to us. Observe famous nebulae like Orion, Ring, and Dumbbell; nearby galaxies like Andromeda and Whirlpool; the rich clusters in Coma Berenices; and countless globular clusters. A boon among lunar observers, this telescope uses its powerful optics to display the surface of our moon in exceptional detail, resolving craters, mountain ridges, and rilles as small as 1.5–2 km with remarkable clarity. By choosing the Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16", you invest in knowledge, vivid experiences, and countless unforgettable nights under the stars.
The precisely engineered optical system provides a clean, natural color rendering. As a Newtonian reflector, this telescope eliminates chromatic aberration, so you won't see distracting colored fringes or halos around stars and planets. The parabolic primary mirror correctly gathers and focuses light, eliminating spherical distortion and providing impeccable image sharpness. The optical elements are made of BK-7 glass and coated with aluminum, achieving reflectivity of 92–95%. Image focusing is easily adjusted using a two-speed 2" rack-and-pinion focuser (with a 1.25" adapter included). The kit includes Plössl eyepieces of 10 mm and 25 mm, providing magnifications of 183x and 73x respectively. You can customize the telescope with a broad range of accessories to suit your observing style. With a practical magnification limit of 800x, the Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 16" offers ample room for experimentation and high magnification exploration.
The telescope's optical tube utilizes a fixed open-tube design. It comes with a protective cover shielding the optics from dust and is mounted on the included manual Dobsonian base. The mount is crafted from high-quality sturdy wood, providing a stable and durable base capable of supporting the heavy optical tube weighing 32.1 kg.
For optimal performance within a working range from -5°C to +35°C, allow 1.5–3 hours for the telescope”s large primary mirror to thermally adapt to night conditions before starting observation. Using the built-in mirror cooling fan will significantly reduce acclimatization time and help maintain stable image quality throughout the observation session.
